High end VS drugstore concealers

So we all have problems with finding a good concealer for highlighting and one for covering our very annoying blemishes and spots, for years I struggled to find a concealer that actually fully covered spots for a decent amount of time, but now I have found the perfect concealer for covering spots, one is from a high end shop and the other is drugstore, so i thought id share this information to help if you're struggling to find a great concealer,I will also mention a high end and drugstore concealer that is best for highlighting!

So in the pictures above we have MAC pro long wear concealer and Sleek Luminaire concealer both of these i find are the best for covering them blemishes and spots! MACS is described to produce a medium to full coverage with a natural matte finish, which it does, but as you put it on it does feel so lightweight and you do wonder how its going to be medium to full coverage but it honestly is and i couldn't find a better high end full coverage concealer! This concealer is priced at £17 and I am in the colour NC15. My drugstore concealer is the sleek Luminaire concealer i have found that this is also very good coverage for spots/blemishes,it has a very salmony undertone but it really works when blending into your skin, it provides a medium coverage but can easily be built up, it isn't a light weight concealer it is in fact very thick so you do worry its going to cake up but it does not cake at all, this concealer is priced at £6.49.

Here are my highlighting concealers for high end i have NARS radiant creamy concealer and for drugstore i have Rimmel wake me up concealer, NARS for me is a very creamy concealer and very radiant so i wouldn't use it for any more than for highlighting, I have it in Vanilla which has a tiny cast of pink for the fair complexion i have so for this i find it very good! This concealer is priced at £22. For my drugstore i chose to use Rimmel wake me up, ive previously wrote a blog post about have much i dislike the foundation but the concealer is great for highlighting,it isn't good for spots but defiantly is for highlighting, i would 100% recommend this concealer, it is such a perfect light consistency that doesn't cake, this is priced at £5.49

Thankyou so much for reading i hoped that this helped!

Lipstick collection

As someone who hasn't really been wearing lipstick for ages, I always thought what was the point as it comes off as soon as you have a drink or eat something but then I had my first MAC lipstick bought for me and it changed how I thought, soon I realised  i couldn't wear makeup without lipstick so starting to build up my collection,my collection is quite small but because im so limited in which colours i will actually wear It is quite a lot for me and I just like trying out them from each brand! So I have 4 from MAC,4 from MUA,1 from Sleek,1 from Rimmel and 1 from L'Oreal, the shades I have are very neutral nudes/pinks apart from 3 which include 2 very bright adventurous reds and 1 bright pink shade! I will display the pictures down below with the names . As a change i thought id do a more picture kind of blog instead of a chatty one!
Velvet teddy&Kinda sexy (matte finishes), Fabby (frost finish) and Creme cup (creme-sheen finish)

Fawn fancy,Totally nude & Red siren (Matte finishes) and Flamingo (sheen finish)

Rimmel Kate Moss 'Kiss of life' Matte finish lipstick
LO'real colour riche in nude '235' (this is more of a glossy finish)
Sleek 'Nude' sheen finish lipstick.

I really hope you enjoyed this post, if you want any more information on these lipsticks then just ask and i will 100% reply! Thank you for reading

The best moisturiser for combination skin

Today i thought i would write a completely different post and go with the theme of 'skin care' so as moisturiser is one of them products that you have to know which works best for you and which one you love! Recently I was shopping in asda and i thought about going to look at the moisturisers as the one ive been using isn't the best and it also sets sticky, which is a big no no for me! I have combination skin so i find quite a lot of moisturisers are aimed at 'oily' or 'dry' the most. So as i was looking i came across Garnier moisture soft 'Normal to dry skin' this was the best one for me to get as the other 2 were aimed at oily and completely dehydrated skin and i was happy to have the dry skin aim on it as i get a very dry nose when it gets warmer due to sun burn a few years ago! I've now been using this moisturiser as my night time moisturiser for 4 days and i love it,It has improved my dry areas and help maintain the better areas of my skin which is exactly what i wanted from a moisturiser, It says it has 24 hour hydration which i can agree with quite happily and it always smoothes ans beautifies which i can also agree with! It sinks into your skin so beautifully and does not leave any stickiness. 100% happy with this product, It was only £1.97!

Thank you for reading! What is your favorite moisturiser? Id love to know! Leah x

anything and everything: A foundation I will never re-purchase!

anything and everything: A foundation I will never re-purchase!

A foundation I will never re-purchase!

We all have that one foundation that is our holy grail foundation, the one we will always go and buy
again and the one we can always rely on,but then you get that ONE foundation that you regret buying but know you need to use it so it doesn't go to waste and waste your money, I've had this problem luckily only once so I am going to tell you about it! The product is Rimmel wake me up, a foundation that's been raved about, when I ran out of my match perfection I fancied trying out a new foundation by rimmel so opted for wake me up thinking it would live up to the match perfection, I was yet to find out that this wasn't the case, I started using this foundation,I applied it one morning and fair enough it was a good match but as I was applying I found it hard to blend into my face once I managed to blend it in I was done and ready to go,I then noticed that I had a shimmer to my hand, where the foundation had been before going onto my face,so i looked at the bottle and saw that it had shimmer in it but I then saw a you-tube video of someone using it saying the shimmer didn't show on your face so I was ok with that until my friend noticed there was a shimmer to my face and when I looked in the mirror again there was a lot of shimmer to my face and wasn't enjoying it but I thought it would be ok and not obvious so this was another thing that affected my first thoughts on it..then throughout the day obviously your foundation starts to fade and come off but most foundations come off gradually and not obviously, but does wake me up? No it started to come off in patches and I was so not impressed! All these things have affected whether I will use this foundation and re purchase, the only good thing about this is that it is good at is making you look more awake and luminous but them
2 positives do not make up for the negatives! Sorry rimmel but wake me up is a no go for me and I will not be re purchasing this product again!

Do you have wake me up? What are your thoughts? I'd love to know! Thanks for reading  Leah x

My must have makeup items!

Today I thought that I would do my must have makeup items,so im going to show my 5 must have makeup items that I could not do my makeup without!

Number 1:
Sleek contour kit in 'light'
I cannot live without this product, since becoming a makeup artist I cant do my makeup without contouring when I was in high school I always wondered 'contouring doesn't make a difference' but now I can see it does, I don't think it necessary if you're just starting out with makeup then contouring is not a necessary thing not at all! But if you're are looking into getting a contouring kit or thinking about what to get, defiantly go with sleek, sleeks kit is so so pigmented and such a lovely colour that defiantly suits your skin,I wouldn't use a different brand for this at all! sleek all the way!

Number 2:
Soap and glory archery

This product is a must have for brows! maybe not so much for filling in as I found the product does seem to run out quite quickly, although for it to fill in sparse areas is perfect! I would not be able to use another product full time, but at the moment mine has gone completely so i need to re purchase on Saturday when i go for my weekly shopping trip with my dad! So yeah id 100% recommend this product to you! for £8 it is amazing!

Number 3:
Maybelline flawless nude 'ivory'

i don't think i shut up about this product its been in my last 3 blog posts maybe? I got this at the end of February for the introductory price of £5.99 its actual price is £8.99 but for this foundation that is such a decent price! Its everything you could ask for from a foundation, it stays on your face all day, it has a 'medium' coverage but for me i rate it a lot higher than medium! So yeah want a new foundation? GET THIS ONE!

Number 4:
W7 in the buff & naked pallet (original)

These two pallets are amazing! I got the W7 in the buff as its an exact dupe for the naked 2 and i wasn't sure if i wanted the naked 2 as much as i wanted the original pallet so i bought a dupe to see, but i found that this pallet is actually identical to the naked 2 and the pigmentation is so amazing! And the I got the naked pallet for £12.50! and now i cant stop looking and it and using it!

Number 5:
No 7 lash extreme mascara in black

I got this for Christmas after previously having it a while back,it is in the mini size as i wanted to see if my love for it was still there! And it is in fact still there! This does so much to your lashes it makes it so long and separated and i defiantly could not find another lash accelerator like this one!

Sorry this was such a short post but I've got a good post in mind for next week! Let me know your favorite/must have makeup items or if you've tried anything ive listed here? love to here from you!

Everyday makeup

Hey! So this weeks blog post is going to be 'My everyday makeup routine' I hope you enjoy!

So first I start out by priming my face with Rimmel's fix and perfect primer, I apply this all over my face and give it about 3 minutes to sink into my skin, this primer is good at sinking in,it doesn't stick to your face or stay on the surface but it isn't my favorite primer as I really don't think it ensures my makeup stays on my face for as long as id hope.

Secondly I take one of my foundations, it vary each day which one I use but today I am wearing my Maybelline flawless nude in ivory, I blend this in with my real techniques expert face brush and ensure it is all blended, this foundation is now my holy grail foundation, it has taken over my love for my MAC studio fix! This foundation leaves such a soft finish to your face and gives your so much coverage for many hours!

Thirdly I take my Rimmel clear complexion powder in 'transparent' all my powders I ever purchase are from Rimmel because they truly are the best powders in my opinion!

Fourthly I take two concealers,Sleek luminaire in 'shade 1' and Rimmel wake me up, I use sleek over spots and blemishes as it had a very salmony undertone to it which does wonders to cover spots and blemishes and then rimmel wake me up to highlight under my nose and down the center of my nose as Rimmel wake me up concealer is defiantly more of a highlighter.

Fifthly I powder the concealer into place and then take my Sleek contour pallet,in the shade 'light' using the darker shade I apply this into the hollow of my cheeks and blend out until you see a nice shadow, I then take a tiny bit up into my temple and at the top of my forehead, making sure it is all blended out! Then using the light shade which is a highlighter I take it on the top of my cheek bones.

Then I move onto eyes! Finally Ha-ha, So I take my W7 in the buff pallet which is a dupe for the naked 2, I usually just use any shade and apply it to my lid then take a darker shade for my crease and outer corner,I never have the same look any day, but I love this pallet, it is exactly like the naked 2, even the packaging is the same! Also the pigmentation is AMAZING!

I then take a few mascaras ( yes I use a few for my desired look) I take no 7 intense volume to start adding that little bit of lift to my lashes, I then take my tiny little Benefit roller lash to add volume and curl to my lashes, I love this mascara, im waiting for my full size version to arrive! I love every Benefit mascara but they are so difficult to get off sometimes!:( finally I take my Rimmel Wonder'ful argan oil mascara to give that final effect and add some separation! And to finish it off i take my no 7 mascara again to do my bottom lashes

Then I take my L'Oreal super line, I don't know where i'd be without this eyeliner it is so amazing! I have been wearing eyeliner how I do for many years and nothing comes close to how much I love this eyeliner! I then take a Kohl eyeliner from no 7 to line my water line.

I then take a My soap and glory archery pencil to just fill in any sparse areas in my brows and set it with my Rimmel brow gel in brown, this combination is perfect and sets my brows for the day.

And to finish the look I Line my lips with Charles fox Krylon in 'nude' and usually take my Mac lipstick in 'Kinda sexy'

I'm sorry this was so long! Didn't realise how much makeup i use haha! i hope you enjoyed! What do you use on a day to day basis? Let me know! Thank you! Leah x

February Favorites!

All the products mentioned!
I thought seen as how its a new month, I could do a favorites post! Hopefully this post will help you,as you may see an item you've been debating whether to get..SO here it goes!

My first favorite is Maybelline's dream flawless nude foundation! I absolutely love this foundation! It is such a high coverage foundation and once its blended into your skin it really shows the coverage, plus it feels so so soft on your skin and it feels like you really don't need to put powder on! It definitely doesn't go cakey with is a massive bonus and it is by far one of the easiest to blend! It has taken over my love for my MAC studio fix!

My second favorite I have is actually a hair favorite! I have crazy long hair and I actually have a phobia of going to hairdressers even though im training to be one as well as a makeup artist..Anyway I do whatever I can to prevent hair damage and split ends occurring so I use hair masques, I finished the one I used at the start of February so I decided to go out and buy a better brand and bigger one! So I popped into ASDA and found my new favorite hair mask! This is the Tresemme Thermal Recovery Intense Repair & Re hydration Treatment Masque, not only is this my new favorite it is also such a great price at the moment! is currently only £2.47 in asda stores! This makes your hair so silky and soft and you will 100% not regret buying this it works wonders and also puts volume into your hair!

My third favorite is Urban decays naked palette! I have a dupe for the naked 2 so I decided not to get the 2nd one so i opted for the original, now here is the shocking bit,I paid £12.50 for my naked palette..I got mine of eBay! Now it always is a bit risky ordering something so high end for so cheap of a site like eBay but I did so much research about the seller and they had sold over 50 palettes and had no complaints and they were also 100% recommended on eBay as a seller so i just did it! When it was arrived it was in the box, all sealed and it was perfect! Remember you don't always need to look from the original website to buy your products there is so many sellers on eBay and amazon who sell the genuine products as well for more than half the price! I noticed when inserting the link its gone up to £13.95 but its still super affordable!

My fourth favorite is Rimmel London's Wonder'Full extre black mascara in extreme black! This mascara does wonder for your eyelashes as it has argan oil in it! It makes your lashes so soft and also it adds so much volume and length to your lashes I would 100% recommend this! It is £7.99 but If you have a savers near you they often have all their rimmel products for under £5 so keep an eye out for that if you truly want a great mascara that would do as much as a high end mascara would!

That is the end of my February favorites! I would love to hear from you guys that read my blogs! Im so appreciative that you take time to ready them it means so much! What have your favorites been this month? Let me know or leave links to your blogs! I would love to check them out!

Maybelline Haul!

So on Saturday me and my dad decided we wanted to go out,but because it is still very cold in England we couldn't really do anything apart from going shopping!  Which really wasn't bad because I really enjoy going shopping if i do need something, I really fancied buying new makeup, just so i was stocked up for a while, I didn't NEED anything but I did want a few things,Id seen a few adverts on TV for a new foundation by Maybelline which is called

Dream Flawless Nude Foundation, I got mine in Ivory, this foundation is the best foundation I've used in a very long time, although i love my other foundations this foundation was so easy to apply and blend it,after you have applied the foundation it feels so soft,it feels like you have already powdered your face,I have never felt a foundation feel so soft and smooth on your face before you've applied powder, so i would 100% recommend this foundation, also it has an extremely high coverage!

The next thing I decided to purchase was the Maybelline Baby skin pore eraser, Id seen many great reviews about this, and due to having sensitive i have to be careful with what brands I use, and I know Maybelline doesn't affect my skin so i decided to just go through with it and buy their primer, although i haven't used this yet,i can tell you that it comes out very clear so there is no colour or undertones to it and it also seems very soft, so again I will defiantly recommend this!

The final thing I picked up was the Maybelline dream sun bronzing powder in brunette! This bronzer is a triple bronzing powder, I have used this, and it gave such an amazing finish,It really made that difference to my final makeup look,I struggle with bronzer because I am quite fair skin so some bronzers look way too dark and obvious on me but this bronzer really worked well with my skin tone and left such a nice finish!

Now if you're reading this blog and you're from England and feel like purchasing some of these items, I'm happy to tell you that it is in fact 3 for 2 in boots at the moment, so i only paid for my foundation and primer and got the bronzer free! This is such a great deal and opportunity to stock up! Also the foundation is only £5.99 at the moment as an introductory price, but i think in march is going up to £8.99 so get it fast! I'll leave links down below as to where you can get these items from! Unfortunately i cannot find the bronzer on the boots website, but it is in store but I will leave the link for superdrug so you can see the bronzer through superdrug!

Thank you for reading, if you have any blogs or any comments or even if you have any of these items, leave a comment or email me and I'd love to see your blogs and read comments about what items you have!

My HD brow experience!

Hey! So today's post is going to be a little bit different to what I've blogged about, around 3 weeks ago I made the decision to have my eyebrows done professionally! But instead of just getting them shaped and tinted I decided to get HD brows which have become so popular recently and they outcome looks so so good! I couldn't resist! Now the treatment involves 7 steps, so I thought I would tell you and give you my honest opinion hoping that it helps if you're thinking about having your eyebrows done! I also took before and after pictures and also pictures a week on to show how easy it is to maintain them!

Before!
After!

The 7 steps:

1) Consultation -  with your stylist to determine which brow shape will best suit your face, what colour your brows should be and filling in a few forms with basic details, now mine was actually done on the day because it was something that could easily be done in 5 minutes.

2) Tinting – If you have thin, or over plucked brows, you don’t need to worry as the consultant will tint your brows to match your hair or natural colour.  As i dye my hair from a mousy brown to dark brown my eyebrows are much lighter than my hair colour, meaning without filling them in i genuinely look like i have no eyebrows or im an alien! So the dye we opted for was to go with quite a dark shade that lightens up over a course of time depending on how long the dye is left on for, but the  dye is left on for a minute and is then swept off with cotton pads.

3) Waxing – I've had my brows waxed before and so I knew what it was like but I had it done years ago by my friend because I was curious! To be honest, I find waxing around the eye area is relatively pain free, but when it was first applied and waxed off a little tear came into my eye,not gonna lie ha-ha! But then as she carried on and did it more I found it was pain free and quite a easy way of removing hairs around your eyes.  The consultant uses a specially created wax to ensure that it doesn't pull or hurt the skin, and this is used to create the arch, I was impressed when my stylist said I had a great natural arch!

4) Trimming – Your brows are then combed through and trimmed to match sure they are tame and of the same length.

5) Threading – Now this is the bit I was most worried about,I wound myself up over it,watching tutorials on YouTube to see how its done right before my appointment, when she approached me with the thread I was absolutely dreading it! But then when she started threading away I had to ask if she was even doing anything because i could not feel a thing! So it really confused me by how some people make a big deal over it but hey, everyone has their own pain thresholds! Threading is used above the brow to blend the hairs in naturally to the rest of your face.

6) Tweezing – This is something I hate the most! I never used to do it on myself, yes I'll admit I used to do a razor but I was so precise! But It genuinely did not hurt at all!

7) Aftercare – Your consultant will then run through how to care for your new brows and will fill in any sparse areas with the HD brow kit as well as setting the brows with the HD Brows ‘Brow Beater’.  I got showed how easy it was to maintain the look and i was super happy with the results! I would 100% recommend this!

Mua makeup academy!

Hey! So today my blog is based on MUA makeup academy, now some may not no this brand and others may, this brand is such a good super affordable brand, i will admit this brand is cheap but you get such amazing quality from this brand! They do everything you could ever wish for from foundations to eye shadow pallets, blushers, powders, mascaras, eyeliners, primers, nail varnish, complexion kits, prime and conceal powders..etc.. so from me just naming quiet a few things it comes to the mind that there is an awful lot on there that other brands may not sell like the complexion kits and conceal powders,as a makeup artist i know that it is incredibly useful to have somewhere to buy conceal powders and complexion kits from. Although i currently have only 4 items by MUA i know my collection will grow gradually..If you ever had a shopping day where you thought 'i really want lots of new makeup' MUA would be the best brand to go look at because you could buy so many new items where as if you went to go by mac or benefit ,L'Oreal etc.. you may only be able to buy a couple of things, MUA is defiantly the best brand to buy as a younger person experimenting with makeup or if you don't have much money and you want the basics..So if you're wondering the 4 items i have are the Pro-Base complexion kit,2 matte lipsticks which are totally nude and scarlet siren and one normal more glossy lipstick called flamingo  the complexion kit cost me £6, and all lipsticks are £1. At the moment there is a sale on the MUA website and there is also reductions in super drug. Super drug is the only store i know which sells MUA. So i thought i would just leave this blog post with pictures of the lipsticks and what they look like on and also links to products i have and to just the MUA website in general and super drug! Thank-you for reading x

Benefit roller lash!!!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara!

So this week was very exciting for me, benefits new mascara which is called roller lash put samples into ELLE magazine! OF course i went out and bought it so i could try it out!  So i thought i would blog and insert pictures about my experience with this new mascara!

So in all honesty this mascara is absolutely amazing! it adds so much volume and length to your lashes! There is no clumps involved at all, it apply smoothly, doesn't feel heavy on your lashes, it feels so natural and doesn't even feel like i have mascara on. When you run your finger over your eyelashes it feels so soft and so evenly applied!  You can apply as many coats as your like to get the look you are going for but with someone with natural long eyelashes i felt as if i only needed 2 coats of this mascara to get the look i go for, as i like my eyelashes to be long and stand out and be voluminous and this mascara truly did the job! Also this is really easy to remove, doesn't take much to get it off, it doesn't make your eyes feel sore after wards from the effort it takes to get off because this product comes off with any good eye makeup remover! Roller lash really does give a satin finish! 100% would recommend to anyone!

Roller lash isn't available to buy at the moment but it does come out next week! Which is Thursday 12th February!

Although i don't know how much it will be I'll insert links here to ELLE, Benefit and QVC because i know you can pre order there and it is £15.82 introductory price which is amazing for this mascara! (Id honestly recommend qvc to get a lot of things)

Daisy nail art

So i decided to do some nail art tonight, the nail art I chose to do was a lovely daisy design, it took me around 20 minutes to complete but was defiantly worth it! I've took photos so that you can follow along and re create the design yourself . Before i post the design and instructions i thought i would tell you what you'd need! So you need 3 different colour nail polishes i used royal blue, yellow and white, the royal blue polish is by NAILS INC LONDON in the shade 'southwark' , my yellow is miss sporty clubbing colours in 19 (this is very old and im not 100% sure if its still sold) and finally for my white it is the rimmel London Rita Ora collection in 703 white hot love, also you need a dotting tool.
these are all the items you will need to recreate the look.

these are all of the items you will need to re create the look
to start paint your nails with the colour you've chosen as your base.

after the base has dried, apply yellow dots to start to create your daisy, position them wherever you want.
Take your next colour to make the daisy leaves, this will complete your look
completed nail look!

new blog..about me and my intensions

Hi! So this blog may not get far at all. I'm not 100% sure how they're found,i'd look for this to get read and for people to enjoy what i choose to write.Maybe i should tell you more about me, so my name is Leah, i am 16, turn 17 in several months, I'm currently at college still, 4 months away from finishing my first year, i study hair and media makeup, but my plans are to drop hairdressing completely and continue to just focus on makeup, I'm 4 months away from being a qualified makeup artist woop woop! I've been debating for a very long time whether to do this, as i said i don't even know if it will get read or anyone will care because there is so many amazing bloggers out there, but i just thought if i don't do it now i never will, life's is way to short to hold back! In my blog i would be covering the subjects of makeup, reviews(possibly) and nail art and showing easy designs, as another thing i love to do is do my nails and i always have some sort of different nail art on my nails, the only time i haven't got nail art on my nails is when I've been in bad mood and don't want to have all happy exciting nails,ha-ha. Thank-you if you've taken time out to read this, I'm now going to go and figure out how to use www.blogger.com and make it the best i can!
